At that time there was actually better infrastructure in place for electric cars, there were no gas stations.

Electric will probably re-emerge as a practical solution with a lot of benefits.
During this new beginning of it, of course it’s gonna be expensive and have some practical limitations.
but that doesn’t mean it’ll never work out.

You forgot that in 1900, horse, mule, wind and good ole shoe leather outdistanced any of the three you mentioned. As for the 15 minute recharging Porsche, that is with their 800 volt charger, which isn't something you just plug into the wall or order up from Home Depot.
It is also entirely possible that another technology (Hydrogen for example) could leapfrog EVs. While I don't doubt that someday a technology other than the internal combustion engine will dominate transportation, that day hasn't yet arrived.
