When a tree branch came down on my RV my homeowners insurance paid me to repair and replace everything that was needed.
It might be equally as expensive but you'll gain a better hatch .
Maybe.... being that its a fiberglass camper, a marine body shop or an auto body shop that does fiberglass repairs would be a place to ask if a fiberglass cover could be made to replace the Heki vent . That way you cut any opening to fit any better quality marine grade hatch. You need an escape hatch in case of fire not a 14x14 fantastic type vent. ( unless you have a pushout emergency window )
I know that the cheaper style emergency hatches that Lance uses are less prone to breaking. There have been few instances with them and they are cheap to replace if need be. Its a screened emergency hatch that real people can fit through to gain access to the roof.
I found this info. Insurance as well as msrp price is mentioned.
If you find a replacement , $600-800 might not seem all that bad.
