Heki 2 Skylight

Many parts of my original Heki 2 are in need of replacement, I would probably be better off just putting in a new one. BUT they are not made anymore, Dometic has no replacement or new parts.
There are several overseas countries, Germany, Australia and the UK that have them, but they won’t ship internationally. That is CRAZY!!

I’ve scoured the internet/ebay and the like and have come up empty.
  • Not sure if you have what you need already, but I just ordered a new complete Heki 2 from my camper manufacturer Northern Lite (BC, Canada). They apparently have stock since they installed these on many of their campers.
  • Apologize for the delay in getting back to this post. In 2018 I purchased 2 struts for my Heki 2 from SGS Engineering (UK) Ltd, 1 Westside Park, Belmore Way, Raynesway, Derby. They were very pleasant to work with and shipped direct to my home in Kansas. The cost for two including shippiing was 48.43 pound sterling which at the time equated to $64.02 US. ($1.92 Citicard transaction fee). I just checked their website and they still have them, part number NL 5030 which you can find under Gas Struts/Gas Strut Application/Roof Light for 20.39 pound sterling. Hope this helps someone in the future looking for parts.

I forgot that this company only sells replacement struts, so sorry no help for the other many breakable parts.
  • Hey glad it worked out. I just wish Heki made a more durable product. The concept is great, the execution - not so much.

If is quite easy to use a freight forwarding service to have the product shipped to a local address (in the UK) who will then forward on to you. For example I have used Forward2Me.com to buy lots of stuff in the UK from suppliers who will not ship to the US. The price is reasonable and there isn't any ongoing membership charge. They will even act as your buyer if the vendor will not accept a US credit card. They have shipping addresses in Germany and throughout Europe as well. If you don't like them they have many competitors.

When my Heki dome cracked, a new one from Dometic cost almost twice what I was able to buy the whole unit for from the UK.

That advice has been a lifesaver! I found a complete bottom frame that includes both the flyscreen and the blackout shade in Australia. AUSFF.com is who I am using as Forward2me didn't work with Australia.

Great advice!!!!! Thanks for taking the time to answer my query.

Here is the one that I used. The only tricky part was removing the old one as it has been in there for 15 years. It was kind of stuck.

I saw that one as well but the measurements look to be too small, even with the larger model to replace the large Heki 2 skylight.

I didn't do it, I paid for it to be done. He also told me I could just replace the heki with a skylight because on my Lance 1181 the escape hatch is the side window. I should have gone with the skylight. I still don't use it.
  • i purchased new pistions from a UK supplier at a very resonable cost. i am currently in isolation aftwr a stem cell transplant so it might be next week before I have access to my records but I'l be happy to pass along the info as soon as I can.
