I don't let mine idle for 30 minutes. Maybe 30 sec. drop in drive and idle out the drive and up the road to work at 40 to 45 mph.Been that way for 9 plus years now, even at -4 degree starts.:)
You need to enlighten this guy I work with. He has a 2006 Cummins (he never calls his truck a Dodge, it is always his Cummins). Anyhow, he will start it up 30 minutes before driving it anywhere. He will idle it before coming into work, before going home for lunch, and before going home for the day. He lives less than 2 miles from work, so I am quite sure his idle time out weighs his driving time by a 5 fold......
