Someone is playing with the HP numbers if those times are correct. When this engine comes out all the manufacture lying will stop. They will be forced to put up the correct numbers and stand by them or look dumb.
Torque not horsepower . The times are very correct. Diesels are better at those 0-60 times, but get out of puff further up the rev range. The Ecoboost is a performance engine, not so much a heavy use towing engine(you use a lot more fuel).
What will have people talking is the performance of the subject "Ram 1500 Diesel. I think ther is a very good reasons Fiat/Chrysler has gone with this.
I never said it was?
The EB has 365HP and 420 torque.
The new oil burning goat is said to have around 250HP and 4?? something ?? torque.
Now, can you tell me how a truck with a 1/3 more HP is going to be slower? In all of my years of drag racing that has never happened if the weights are the same or close. Never.
If it's close sometimes lower HP can win a race, but it is rare and it will be close. The Chevy and Ford diesels come to mind. But again it is very close and not 1/3+ more HP.
So let me get this straight. "You" think when there is a towing race (and there will be) of the new oil burner and the EB the oil burner will win? I'm sure that PUT.com will do this the same way they did the big diesels so it will happen. (Mike you out there?) :)
I'm saying "if" the numbers above are correct or close the EB will just KILL the diesel. The diesel won't have a chance "if" there is a 100+HP difference or more with "REAL" numbers.
Agree or disagree? :)
