I for one, applaud Ram for trying this out. Regardless of the HP/TQ comparisons with gassers, I'll bet Ram has their niche figured out. I can imagine a lot of builders, landscapers, trades people, and TT haulers, etc., using a small diesel 1/2 ton like this.
The biggest arguments against it might be, the high cost of diesel fuel, and the up-charge for the diesel engine and 8 speed trans at initial time of purchase.
But regardless of all the speculation, arguments, number crunching, nay-sayers, there is really only one good way to test the market. That is to stick your neck out there, invest some money, take a chance, build it and give it your best shot at selling it. Kudos for them trying it. We can all speculate as much as we can. I hope they sell millions of them.
