Bob you know it will have the 8 speed right? I doubt the EB will "absolutely destroy" it. But only time will till.

I don't have high hopes for the 8 speed auto at all. Motortrend tested both the Ford and Dodge Regular Cab 2WD with their V6 engines, which are just about the same in HP and torque, and the Ford with the 6 speed was still faster. And F150s are heavier than Ram.
I think Ram finally stepped it up with a decent transmission, but I don't see it being much better than most 6 speeds that are true 6 speeds, hense Dodges 6 speed that only uses 5 speeds.
Some misinformation here.
The Ram truck tested was almost 800# heavier (Ram tested was 5362# vs the F150 tested that weighed 4698#).
The Ram also was equipped with a 3.21axle, the F150 V6 was a 3.55.
The times were:
Ram 1500, 3.6L V6, 3.21 axle, 8 speed auto:
0-60 = 7.6s, 1/4 mile = 15.8s
F150 shortbed reg cab, 3.7L V6, 3.55 axle, 6 speed auto:
0-60 = 7.4s, 1/4 mile = 15.7s
Put 800# in the bed of the Ford and run the test again, and I'm sure the advantage would be eliminated.
