Nooooo! CP4.2 is what will be installed.
3.0 Diesel
A CP4 pump, with a 6.0 design and cast pistons. Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Looks like a real nice engine to work on though? Well thought out to work on. I wonder what the Cummins owners think about having a 6.0 Ford design between the rails of their half ton Ram? :B
How did you come up with it's a "Ford design " :h
Ford's problems with the 6.duh were head bolds and a poor EGR design and sand leftover from casting right?
Come on you can do better then that Turtle
Don
Don you must haved missed my :B with the "Ford design." :W
But if people really want to dot all the i's; Ford did sign off on this engine.
THEY are the ones that tested it in their trucks and gave the two thumbs up for the 6.0. :S Much like my boss signs off on the work I do. If it's screwed up, it's on her, not me. That's why she makes the big bucks. :)
Ford was also the ones that put the tune to this engine; and over spec at that acording to "Ford engineers."
Remember, Nav just sold them an engine and it was Fords baby after that.
As far as why this engine has problems? That depends on who you listen to. If you listen to "internet engineers" and some good diesel shops they think it was caused by casting sand in the blocks.
If you listen to "Ford" it was caused by sluffing of their block heaters that clogged the coolers.
If you listen to "me", I think it was a little of both and some other trash left in the block.
Then Ford thought the head gasket problems was caused by wavy heads and going over spec on the cylinder pressures.
I thought it was caused by going over spec on the cylinder pressures and wavy heads and rubber head bolts and turbo sticking problems and the SUPER DUMB 10 bolts/ head deal or any one of these or maybe more that I missed? :h
Dodge better be REAL careful on what they sign off on. The Cummins brought customers to their trucks. The little V can bring more...........or chase them away.
