I also found the directions to being somewhat vague at the time, but the biggest problem I had was missing parts. The day I went to do the installation I discovered that the rubber bushings were never included. I had to call the company and they did send them out right away, but still an inconvenience. The surprising thing to me was after I had experienced incomplete packaging, several others on the forum also reported not getting the necessary parts to complete their installations. And it seemed like each case was different, some had bolts and nuts missing, others had different pieces of hardware missing. It was definitely an area that Hellwig needed to address. Hopefully it sounds like you made out OK,
Fortunately, I didn't have any issues with missing parts so it appears that this issue has been handled. The directions, on the other hand, are enough to get by but could use some improvement.
