I just bought the f450 in my signature used. I almost ordered one. They told me I could order one now, and it would be 6-8 weeks and a '15. Diesel only if you buy one with a bed. There are more options in a chassis, but 4.88 would probably be horrible mileage with gas. They are changing for '15 back to 19.5s, but also the turbo is changing for diesel.

Special bodies are nice for lots of storage though.

We just specked out 6 new F-450’s 4x4's last week, we ordered the V-10 engines because they will only see city duty. If they were mountain highway units with this much weight they would have to be diesels. I thought we ordered 2014’s; I’ll have to check on that.

OK guys. I have been busy doing the dealerships to get info on ordering the 2015 Ford. I chose Ford because I have decided to go "gas". Hopefully by Friday, the final decision on which model will be decided. For anyone that might like to know, the updated F450 pickup will be available to order in June for August delivery. Also it will only be offered in diesel. So far I am talking gas, crew cab, dually, 4x4. Wheelbase/CA, flatbed length, wheels and anything else is where I will need any and all info hopefully from you guys. The payload I am shooting for is in the vicinity of 6500 because the final TC will be a triple slide. We all know how easy it is to run up the weight after everything else is added to the mix. I also have a Dodge 4500 with a 11foot flatbed. diesel, 4 x 4 crew cab. This Dodge is far superior to the Ford 450 I traded in for it.

Smaller camper and tow less, you will be fine with a 3500, and skip all the drama

Louie, you are right on with the 550/5500 for a triple slide unit. I think that the Ram 5500 with the Cummins/Asin set up would be hard to beat. I am a GM guy but that Ram set up is nice and a proven unit.

Hi guys. Thank-You very much for all the advice/opinions. The posts about cancer are super and Thanks so much for all concerns. Part of the reason I haven't got back sooner is health related. I am lening toward a gas engine, but it is not cast in stone. It is my understanding that the ford trucks can not be ordered right now with the 2015's coming out April or so. A bit confusing? The first chance I get, I will get to a Ford dealership. Keep any and all suggestions flowing as much as you want. Thanks again. Louie
