If there were an OEM option for a forced induction gas one ton with good engine breaking, then diesel wouldn't necessarily be my first choice when towing at altitude. Do I have to have a forced induction diesel for my towing purposes? No, I could get by with naturally aspirated gas one ton but I shudder at the thought doing it every time I tow from my house. So the
minor added maintenance costs of diesel for me are negligible.
