help with famly bunkhouse choice please KZ jayco others

getting back into camping and agonizing over TT choice. looking at 27-28' which ends up30+ I realize,bunks,sofa/dinette sleepers around 5500 UVW. I hate to make impulsive choices but wife is impulsive and ready to camp now. After trips to a few dealers and hours on the net,we like the KZ sportsmen 271bhle it "felt" like fit finish was as good or better that some others, the jayco and a passport model was also nice and in our budget. we really like KZ but I can't find many realworld testomonials. Any input or experience? Thanks a ton!!

  • My daughter has 4 kids under 8 years old so they needed a bunk house. Slide out(s) are mandatory for more inside space on rainy days. One of her "must haves" was a U-shaped dinette. Plenty of room for everyone to sit down. They have "standard" A/C and no television.

One feature of the Jaycos that I like is the curved roof. No water pooling up there ! Personally, I think I would prefer a more robust manual awning than some of the low end power awning that bend/break in a light breeze. Not a fan of an "outdoor kitchen". The plywood that Jayco uses for bed platforms is ridiculously thin. Maybe adequate for the kids bunks but you will need bracing or thicker plywood under the queen bed.

Quality, brand to brand and even within a brand seems like a **** shoot these days.
