- JRJRExplorerI figured out that with water pressure behind the fitting it wont go in.
I have to take a fairly large phillips screw driver put it into the center of the fitting and hit the handle with the palm of my hand to release water pressure.
After that it snaps right in.

faucet? I thought we were discussing a hose fitting that is sort of like one on an air compressor hose.
bumpy - dieselfitterExploreri think i might have been given the wrong hose. i cant even get the hose into the fitting i will try and load photos so you can see what im talking about. i pushed the locking pins in with a screw driver and they are not holding it up.

bumpy - danagerExplorerI just replaced my outside shower with one that is similar to yours. The instructions mention applying some petroleum jelly to the inside of the socket. In the past, I have used a screwdriver to free up the retainers and then insert the hose.

- BedlamModeratorIf it is a quick release fitting, they can get stuck in place. If you are trying to insert the fitting while you have water pressure behind it, coupling up the shower is even harder. I had to use a blunt punch and my palm to free mine up after not using it over the winter.
