That stuff is nothing like silicone caulking.
I did my house roof over a year ago, but coated flat spot only. This year after seeing how well it holds, I "painted" the edges for cosmetic reason. Hold like single coat. The only complain is that it discolors easy when applied over black stuff.
I did not worry about it on my house with tar, but my camper had some black mess from eternabond, who showed as yellow spots.
The best part, since you make mono coating on everything, any cracks that might happen in the future is very easy to spot.
In the past took me 2 months to figure out how I had rain water on countertop. The coulk at aluminium railing look good to bare eye, but was loose at the bracket.
