Impressive. Very nice job. I just picked up another used one and rebuilt it too. Mine didn't need quite as much work, my bearings and grease looked new. Mostly needed cleaning and paint. See here. Kind of wished I had gone the sand blast route like you though. Can I ask how much a job like that costs?
If you call Hensley again and ask, they will send you a new serial number sticker.
Too bad you weren't closer, I have a 2" you could have. My local dealer charges $120 to swap.
Great find for yours! Wow. I wouldn't have paid near $800 for mine if I knew the bearings were bad. But I still ended up ok I think.
I found a great little local sandblasting company who did it for $80. If the paint was adhered just a little better, I would have just sanded and painted, but I kept flaking off pieces that I thought were stuck well and found rust under them. I hope to have the hitch for a good long while, so when I found someone to do it for under $100 I just went for it.
I've looked high and low for a used 2" stinger or even a nearby dealer that might have one to swap. Heck, I had a hard time even finding a local dealer that even knew what a Hensley was! :R
Alas, I ordered the 2" from Hensley today.
