I miss the days of the 12v Cummins.
I don't... those trucks drove like some real turds... But at least they met the current emission standards back in those days and didn't have to cheat the system.
Not much to miss on the 12V , about the same as that other noisy one the 7.3
Yes I don't miss the 7.3 either- NJRVerExplorer

Looks like the exact same thing VW did.
Blatantly falsify information.
So who is bigger, VW or Fiat?
Or maybe the question should be, Who has the bigger bank account, VW or Fiat?
VW is far bigger both in sales and bank account. Fiat has long term viability question and has been actively seeking a merger partner for some time.
And it has really thrown VW for a loop.
Uh-oh Fiat. - FordloverExplorer

Where's the data that actually shows that the EcoDiesel equipped vehicles cheated emissions and produced illegal amounts of emissions?
That's what I would like to see.
The lawsuit accuses them of doing what VW did, but with VW I thought it was the EPA that broke it open and then the lawsuit.
Actually, it was a college that first discovered the anomalies, and upon further research started to suspect something was amiss. It was then reported to the EPA and CARB.

But they were simple, forgiving and far easier and cheaper to work on. Going past the warranty period wasn't even a concern. Unless we clicked the star wheel a few notches or moved or replaced the fuel plate, no visible smoke even under heavy load. We'll probably find out one day that burning urea causes more health problems than diesel soot.

New models are great.
