You owning a 4WD truck :B which is never needed :W
Might mention the mileage and service records if you know em.
We had a 2001 1500 4WD and never had your problem, but we only had it a couple of years. It lost the tranny soon after I sold it, to a relative no less :E
Wheel bearings is common on Ford and Ram solid front axles. Not sure about the 1500's but there is always that hidden lube point on the front drive shaft also.
