- Travels_with_YoExplorerPretty new to this forum .... first attempt at posting pictures. We entered the TT lifestyle last summer with a little T@B and this summer will be heading off on our 8,500 mile maiden odyssey in our new little 18 footer.

Now lets try a video link ....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8mNmuRv-Bs - Singlespeed92ExplorerI don't think it will either, other than being slow on long grades,it's proven a dead-reliable vehicle over the time I've owned it. Within a 2-3 year time frame,we may wish to upgrade to a bit bigger TT,like 28-32'(as our daughter is about to graduate high school next year, giving her 2-3 years to settle and start into her adult life, read: move out :p,and then we may wish to go 3/4 of being "full timers",home schooling our son and taking him with us),so about 90% of the thinking about a V8 Grand Cherokee is my wanting "1 to drive,1 to play with" ;) :P

Yup,we're in Bristol (about 8 miles from the Speedway, not that we're big fans-though I do take my son to the truck race since it's a double header and the wife has gotten 2 free tickets the last 2 years at work,LOL).
LOVE my XJ! IDK why I waited so long to buy one (having owned well more than my,your, and 3 buddy's fair share of vehicles over the years,LOL),but I'm not likely to let it go anytime soon.
There's been talk that if this 2500lb TT is a bit much for it (being 16 years old with 208K miles on it...the 4.0L is legendary, but not really a powerhouse ;) :p ) of buying a nice, well maintained V8 ZJ or WJ next Spring. Not that I think it will be,hahaha, but I'd have one to play with and one to maintain/keep stock that way :p
2500lbs? My 6x12 weighs almost 2000 empty. I loaded two motorcycles and the rest of my worldly belongings on it and went over the Blue Ridge mountains with my XJ back in 06. I was at the limit (4000lbs) and it did fine for me. Just not real fast going up that long grade. I can't believe your Jeep would have any trouble towing 2500lbs. - PacNWChrisExplorer

Very nice! Is that the 282RK? We just picked up a 2015 282RK and are loving it so far! Our current TV is a Nissan Titan. We're coming up on the limit once we start putting provisions in, so we're looking at a F350 diesel as an upgrade.
Anyhow, LOVE the trailer! :) - Singlespeed92ExplorerYah,we love it. It might prove snug when all 4 of us go if the weather were bad (forcing us to stay indoors),but on those solo trips or the "her and I" trips,it'll be extra sweet :) And you're very welcome,it was an honor and privilege, happy 4th to you and yours too,my friend :)

Hi all,I'm new here and to TT's. LOTS of awesome rigs in here! We just (today) bought our very first TT (new Jayco Jay Flight Swift SMX 84BH)-not the biggest/most lavish of TT's,but we like it. Will be picking it up Monday, and taking it on it's maiden voyage on a 4 day July 4th trip into the Great Smoky Mtns in Pigeon Forge,TN (will get better pics of it after picking it up). We're excited,as a former long haul truck driver who traveled all over this fine nation and former soldier who traveled a bit in those days as well,I missed being on the road (disabled legally in 2008 from 2001 injuries when a codriver wrecked me,LOL,so been stuck close to home since :p ),so we plan to travel a bit in this one a few years before upgrading TT and TV (we'll be using my old Jeep XJ for now) in a few years, and maybe go full time when empty nesters. Nice to "meet" all of you :)
(Hopefully this was resized correctly)
I absolutely love these trailers. There is a dealer in my area that sells tons of these. Kinda makes ya feel like you can go anywhere with ease with one of these. They are so pretty too. Love the aluminum siding! P.S. thanks for your service. If you're in in East TN then you must be close to Pigeon Forge already. I'm gonna be needing a good river-side site over there come August, or at least that is the plan. Talking about plans, when I still had my XJ I planned to convert my 6x12 trailer into a make shift tent platform that I could haul bikes and gear in, but that was nixed later after foolishly doing a double trade, first for a FJ Cruiser, then for a LJ. To this day I wished I hadn't have let that XJ go.
Happy travels. - Heavy_Metal_DocExplorer
- Singlespeed92ExplorerThanks,PAAK,it certainly is a great place to vacate. We've been there many many times over the years (both for the "attractions" and as a mtn biker/Jeeper),and we're actually close enough (2-3 hours not towing) to make a day trip(we have) if we really wanted to,but it makes for a long day,LOL! This will be our first time ever in a campground that didn't mean a tent :p
Update: There was a problem (mis-communication) about our receiver hitch (I was under the impression that that was part of the "prep for towing" we had ordered/paid for,but it wasn't,and my class 1 or 2 hitch just isn't enough ;) ),so I wasn't able to pick it up today as expected. They did get all the wiring and brake control installed though, and I ordered a class 3 hitch, which should be here by Friday. Since they install it for free with purchase,LOL,I guess I'll just let them do it (I normally install my own). Hopefully I can pick it up Friday or Saturday :)
