High mile gas engine trucks

I would like to see who else still tows with higher mile gas engine trucks say over 100,000 miles. I have a Chevy 6.0 gas with 120,000 miles and am curious as to see who else is running with higher mile gas engines.

  • I don't tow a TT anymore, but for most of my truck's life it has towed either a TT or a boat. I have just under 110,000 miles on my 2005 Ram 1500 Hemi and it still runs like the day I bought it new.

I think about 200K is getting up there for gas, many go further, but high average. Diesel 350k+.

I know I had a bit of a time selling our 2001 at 314K even with complete service and maintenance records and oil analyst. It was still a strong TV.
  • We towed with our van right up until we traded it at 254K miles. I don't think 100K is really a concern now days. Heck, most gas vehicles don't even require spark plug changes until over 100K any more.
  • Just camped with one of our sons this last weekend. He has 155,000 on his 2002 Excursion V10. He has no plans on getting rid of it and is in fact looking to get a bigger (28') TT next spring.

  • Good point, so what is considered "high miles" for a gas engine today? I realize there are several points where you need to add money to get to higher miles but I am not sure where those points are at this time.
    Thanks,
