Ford has the 3.2 liter I5 diesel for the Transit van. In an F150 that would be a direct competitor to the Ram diesel. But if the 2.7 Ecoboost actually gets 30 mpg it would be hard to spend the extra $$ for the diesel, since many 150/1500 pickups are not used for heavy towing. But who knows, with the 800 lb weight savings maybe they could squeak 32 mpg out of the diesel.
Any way you look at it, its exciting to see truck manufacturers pushing new technology to make their products better.
