It depends on traffic and time of day for me.
But, as a truck driver and others who drive trucks and long vehicles your causing less trouble being in the center lane in busy traffic.
It takes a lot of effort on a truck drivers part to continually change lanes for merging traffic and it causes more problems, delays, backups, close calls and mishaps in doing so.
Take the path of least resistance (center lane) and let the four wheelers maneuver and change lanes, its better for all.
Most truckers or people with experience pulling long vehicle will tell you this.
Just drive the interstate during a busy part of the day and look where most of the trucks are.
