Same problem with almost same setup, found a used set of 19.5 wheels, and tires. Never think about weight now, or gravel/rock road useage.
The 19.5 inch wheels allow you to buy real tires....
It seems to stop OK also, I don't think the heavy tires/wheels do the front end components any good though. Some really bad banging and crashing in potholes. My tread design is noisy on the pavement, but good for winter also
