The sticker on my camper reads 3000 lbs, it actually weighs 3760 lbs.
I'm only over my trucks GVW by 480 lbs give or take depending on how much more I add for a trip.
For me 500 lbs isn't enough to even worry about.
I have no doubt that the corporate lawyers subtract several hundred lbs from the trucks capability just to keep the manufacture safe.
