Hitch extension brace

I'm looking to hear from people only who have done this to get real-life info on their experiences. Opinions not of any value since I have already thought.

I want to brace my extension bar. I do not have a Super hitch and will not be getting one. I have a class 5 hitch, but my concern is the extension piece.

My plan it to weld a hook on a hitch ball, mount that on the bumper and run a chain near to the end of the extension to help support the weight.

I wonder how much force this will put on the chain, and how much twisting will be put on the bumper.

I will need a turnbuckle of some sort to adjust tension, so wonder what load range I would need.

The goal is not to support the tongue weight off the bumper chain, but to just assist when vehicle hits road bumps and take some stress of the extension tube.

Welding to the top of the bumper ball is as high as I can make the chain until it hits the TC above it.
The bumper is stout and there is a very thick and heavy plate supporting the ball, well over ½ inch thick piece of steel there.

I don't mean to be rude, but…. Please, if you have not done this and yet still have an opinion, please sleep on it and come back tomorrow and don't share, thanks.

round this guy's old post, similar, but chains are attached to better than a bumper, wonder how it turned out in the long-run
