I jump on the pickup bumper first and if that doesn't work I put the get in the pickup, put my foot on the brake, put it in neutral, and then release the brake. If doesn't work I may have to move it slightly forward or back.
The trick here is to have the trailer slightly raised but, not so high as to start lifting the pickup off of the ground. If you get it too high it gets even more stuck and it is harder to get it to come free. If you have it just slightly raised it will pop right out usually by just jumping, or by putting the pickup in neutral.
After it comes free I still have to raise the TT higher to get it to clear the ball. If you are getting it to pop free and the TT is then high enough to completely clear the ball then you are getting it too high before you start trying to get it come free. Sorry if I didn't explain that last part very well. I can try aging if you don't get it.
