If your looking at a new trailer to safely tow behind your Xterra, you may be limited in terms of length and weight. If I recall, you're limited to about 1,000 lbs of payload. Be careful with your selection. A premium weight distribution hitch like a Hensley or Propride will only do so much. They weigh nearly 200 lbs and take away that much from your payload. Even a mid grade hitch like an equalizer or Blue Ox weight in close to 100 lbs. IMO, Xterra's weren't built for pulling anything longer than 20 feet or 4000 lbs.
