Homemade stove cover (pix)

A friend asked me to make a stove cover for her camper. Here is a picture of the cover I made for her:

[img][/img]

It is a torsion box design which has the advantage of being very rigid, but also lightweight. The top is laminated with a scrap of Formica that I got very reasonably from a local contractor. I took a number of pictures while making the cover that show the process. You can view them by following THIS link.

  • Nice job there. We found a large black cutting board with a cork bottom at Wall Mart and just place it on top of the stove. It serves dual purposes, extra counter space, a cutting board, and a portable make shift table top. It doesn't move when traveling because of the cork bottom.

Yours look very nice. Good job!

Hey 2oldman, how did you get my picture to post?

    a) I quoted your post to grab the url
    b) url took me to your page
    c) looked on right side for 'Direct' url to picture
    d) clicked on that, it said 'copied'
    e) came back here
    f) Pasted that url into my reply..added img tags
    g) added 'height=' parameter to reduce size.

    Voila.
  • honey comb will make it nice and rigid yet light weight. nice job.
  • Hey 2oldman, how did you get my picture to post? I tried four times to get it displayed but couldn't. Guess I'm a better carpenter than photographer! Anyway, Thanks!
