I had a 1000 for years. It worked very well for battery charging. I'd get up in the morning and start it. Make some coffee, mill around, make breakfast and then wash the dishes. Total of about 2 hours and my Group 31 was fully re charged.
I was not frugal with electricity either. Since a lot of "no campfires" I spent nights with lights on, watching tv or lap top.
Then I sold the 1000 and got a 2000 as it was supposed to run my AC. I put the "soft start" on the AC and it would run my 13,500 AC here at home. But gaining any more altitude it would not.
If I had it to do over again I would have kept the 1000. Worked great for re charging, lighter, smaller, more fuel efficient and IMO, quieter!!!
