Give me a ballpark (not a formula please) approximately how long running the Honda 1000 will it take to charge a Gr29 battery if it's half-discharged from a night or two of use.
Lots of you guys give a formula to electric questions - does me no good. I'm an HOURS guy, not how many watts, volts, laps, caliber, amps, stitches, or how tall is it, or solar is faster, easier, cheaper. Just how much time in minutes or hours does it require in the AM to charge it after half use ... thanks M44
It depends (of course).
Is your camper using LED's, do you run the furnace a lot, do you have an LED TV?
If the batteries are half way drawn down it will take about 4 hours of run time to bring them back a safe level using the 1000
If you watch a movie (using a state of the art LED tv) and don't run the furnace (and you have LED bulbs) you will find a 1 hour run time sufficient.
I like to run the generator in the morning while we're cooking, taking showers, charging the laptops, etc. Two hours of run time and we're good for another night and movie.
More than anything,
it takes a lot of time to charge the laptops and cellphones simply because of their own characteristics.
This may be a bit shocking:
Battery state of charge versus charge times *from the Progressive Dynamics product literature
When you say "half discharged" then you mean this:
Battery state of chargeIf you want a textbook answer: 20 to 40 hours for a half discharged battery.
If you want a day-to-day one person's experience: 2 to 4 hours per day.
