In the first place, I don't feel that the "yellow" one is a knock-off. It's a quality generator with good customer support.
Yes, Honda's are quiet, BUT, how are you going to use it ? If you intend on running it between the hours of 7pm to 10am then your neighbors are probably not going to be happy with you. If you aren't. Then what's the point ?
Here's a couple of specs. on each:
Honda:
$950
59 dB(A) @ rated load 53dB(A) @ 1/4 load (at what distance?)
2000W Max.
1600W Rated
Champion:
$1079
58 dBA from 23' (at what load?)
3100 Max
2800 Rated
One thing I do hate, is there is not a "uniform standard" when measuring the db. Load, Distance, etc.
IMHO, I would go with the CHAMPION !!!! :p
