- discovery4usExplorerI like the plate ideas as well.
Let me know where you are camped and I will come dig a hole under the plate and unbolt the generator. Sorry couldn't help myself :):) - mkirschNomad II

Some of the pictures here make me think of an old forum discussion issue with a different twist. Anyone removing their front license plate and mounting it on their generator or front rack to keep it visible?
Here in NY if your back plate is NY, your front plate better be visible or you WILL get hassled by the law. - Grit_dogNavigator

A lot of places... such as Burning Man on Saturday night, and certain other events.
Truck campers go a lot of places other than camping in the woods or campgrounds.
That plate you park on is the most brilliant solution I’ve ever seen!
I’m going to do that!
I don’t get any credit. That was the other feller. Agree, very ingenuitive. - Kayteg1Explorer IINot too many states require front plates and than even CA and NV do, there is no enforcement that would check it.
Lot of exotic cars drive here and don't have front plate.
My latest Mercedes come with no front plate bracket and no holes. Even I bend the plate to bumper curve, I keep it in the trunk.
So no, I am not worry about truck plate behind generator.
Althought that might make and issue on commercially registered truck, who in CA have to have registration stickers on front. - ajridingExplorer II

I cut a piece of 1/4" aluminum plate the same footprint of the generator with an extra 10" at one end. Bolted it to the bottom of the generator. I then park the truck on the 10" of plate sticking out past the gen.
I love it! Simplicity.
Yes a jack, that everybody has in their car, would work, but a thief might not understand the simplicity and think that far. Of course, a truck jack and a car jack are two different animals.
I'd love to see hidden video of the would-be thief that tries to just walk up and grab the handle and run. - stevenalNomad IISome of the pictures here make me think of an old forum discussion issue with a different twist. - zulu52ExplorerThat plate idea is good!
But bad guys suck.
Many years ago, my Brother had a 1968 Camero that he put an 8-track player in to. He didn't want anyone to steal the player so he spent some time building a frame around it under the dash.
Well, someone broke in and tried to steal it. When their efforts were frustrated by the frame, they took a tire iron, stuck it in the 8 track and completely destroyed the insides.
Guess they showed him.
