Yeah, that bright red is an invitation. Gave mine a paint job a couple years ago. I don't ever plan on selling it, so I don't care how it looks.

Install a wrap on it too... so it's less visible to thieves

A cable and a lock can deter the casual thief. The opportunist thief with a battery powered angle grinder / cut off disc can easily take it, if they see it.

When we aren't storing it inside the TC to make starting in very cold weather easier, we hide it out of sight in a dog tent. Makes digging it out after a storm easier as well. Few people will open a dog tent ...

It's only a generator, I use a cable and lock either to my truck wheel or trailer frame. If you want it that bad it's yours.

There are many things easier to steal like our electric jacks that have a couple bolts right at eye level, spare tires, receiver hitches, etc. Keep an honest person honest with a simple cable/chain and lock so it doesn't just walk off.

Bolt cutters won't work on it.
But Kayteg's right. A grinder will cut it.
Still, probably the best protection you can buy.
What thief carries around a battery powered grinder?
