When we aren't storing it inside the TC to make starting in very cold weather easier, we hide it out of site in a dog tent. Makes digging it out after a storm easier as well. Few people will open a dog tent ...
That's an awesome idea. - trail-explorerExplorer

What's your email address and password so we can log in to your email account to see what you are talking about?
THe link above is your EMAIL. - bb_94401ExplorerA cable and a lock can deter the casual thief. The opportunist thief with a battery powered angle grinder / cut off disc can easily take it, if they see it.

There are many things easier to steal like our electric jacks that have a couple bolts right at eye level, spare tires, receiver hitches, etc. Keep an honest person honest with a simple cable/chain and lock so it doesn't just walk off. - zulu52Explorer

Here's the chain and lock to buy. Not cheap, but cheaper than a new generator. AND if they do break the chain or lock somehow, they'll replace the stolen item worth up to $3,750 if you take care of the registration.
AMAZON - Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit 1415 Chain and New York Disc Bike Lock, 14mm x 60"
This comes from the 2nd paragraph of the product description:
In the off chance that your bike does get nabbed while locked up with the New York Fahgettaboutit, be sure to register for Kryptonite's free $3,750 anti-theft protection coverage.

That's pretty cool!
Bolt cutters won't work on it.
But Kayteg's right. A grinder will cut it.
Still, probably the best protection you can buy.
What thief carries around a battery powered grinder?
Probably not many really. They make a lot of noise.
