Chain takes about 20 secs for whatever it is worth.
So, better suggestion to lock it to a tree? I mean I could cut a good size tree down in about a minute too with my Stihl 036... - _1FlyboyExplorer..... Anyone know how many generators keyteg1 has?....I heard he’s lowlife!....
- towproExplorerI just use a chain and lock and attach it to my truck, and I don't camp where Keyteg1 goes.
- Kayteg1Explorer IITakes me about 5 seconds with my cordless saw and diamond blade to cut any cable.

That, and be smart about when you leave it unattended. - RoyFExplorerI just use a 6-foot length of chain through the handle and a ordinary padlock. Chain doesn't cost much at a hardware store or Home Depot. (Yes, I know that the generator's handle can be cut with a saw.)
- fpooleExplorerI've used this one for a few years and works, I guess, but no indication of attempted theft so don't really know..
ONGUARD 8021 Mastiff 6' x 3/8" Quad Chain Lock
Have to be careful on size as it just barely fits through the handle. Also have the Handle Steel Plate guard..
Certainly not foolproof, but I still have it..
It maybe, it never tried to wander off.. I typically run the chain around the camper jacks when down or through the wheel rims if I hve too..
Hope that helps.. - GordonThreeExplorerAlso take a look at YouTube channel lock picking lawyer when deciding on a lock. (Spoiler most of them are junk)
- zulu52ExplorerNothing is completely foolproof but you can make it hard to steal.
This is what I did for my Honda 3000 but it is on a trailer.
Welded a frame together and bolted it to the trailer deck.
Used two different types of screws.
Also used 1/2" carriage bolts with two different size nuts. This pic is the underside of the trailer. Note the little pieces of pipe. I someone would need two different size deep well sockets to get to the nuts.
Lastly, a cover goes over it and bolts to the iron frame.
Not impossible to steal but you better bring a tool box.
