Honda EU 2200i on Eco with AC??

Just wondering if anyone has any EU 2200i experience of running their air conditioner while in the ‘Eco’ mode, particularly at higher elevations and temps, thanks

I have had mine on Eco for battery charging and then turned on the A/C. The generator rev'd up and handled the load. Since then I have done it many times without any problems. I am pretty marginal to begin with only an eu2000i.

I’d say that for two concurrent loads, that is pretty outstanding, Do you happen to know what btu size your air cond is??

Mine is an older Coleman in the range of 10K. The point is that Eco controls the low speed or idle. Eco does not diminish the maximum output under load.
  • Is your water heater or refrigerator on 110v?

I installed an EZ Start and I make sure that both of those are running on propane when I start the A/C. With my EU2000.

Even with an EZ Start, the little Honda generators might not run on eco, especially at altitude.

Read the manual, ECO mode is for low power usage, not AC.

Ok I went to the Honda site, read the manual and could not find any such reference -perhaps you are referring to a different model (or in the abstract)??... Either way, upon start-up air conditioners do present a heavy load, but it might be sufficiently lessened when using the Easy Start...More data required!

Could be right, but the genesis of my question was prompted by the following post while checking Amazon reviews (FWIW) - I found this item of interest:

“This unit works perfectly on our class b camper. It will run a 13k BTU Dometic AC with micro air easy Start on ECO mode. Awsome product!”

    Above Post found here:

I kinda take reviews with a grain of salt, although with the ‘Easy-Start’ device added (in lieu of the standard air cond. start capacitor), it might be a true statement...Yet if so, in my view the real proof of the pudding would be during an extended run time of longer than 30 min...

FWIW, I have previously installed the Easy-Start, but using a EU 2000...
