My previous diesel (2003) I averaged 11-13 towing. My current gas truck I average 10 towing the same trailer (~8500 lbs). I can't go anywhere without some kind of a hill or pass and neither had any problem. The diesel would do it at about 2500 rpm, the gas will do the same around 3200. But the newer cab is quieter even with the slightly higher RPMs.
