I go along with the diesel boys and recommend a one ton dually diesel for towing a 10,000 pound trailer. Not. Those things new are nearly double your budgeted $30k and you can get a brand new plain jane F-250 or 2500 series gasser for just about what you want to spend. They will tow 10,000 pounds with no problem and the advantage of being brand new with a full warranty is worth it in my opinion. Modern 3/4 ton models with the gas engine will get around 12-16 mpg when not towing. 8-10 mpg towing your 10,000 pound trailer.
