After reading through all of the "opinions" I think that with modern day tow trucks it comes to what ever blows your skirt up or turns your crank. :h
As far as pulling with a diesel and never going to gas there are exceptions to that also. You are looking at one. I pulled with a 7.3 psd for 12 years. I now tow with the gasser in the 2012 F250 and will not even consider going back to diesel. The gasser fits my needs, budget, etc, and it just happens to turn my crank. :W
And I could care less about resale, when I am done with it whatever it is won't be worth much.
