60% of the US population lives east of the Mississippi. I would bet that for at least 75% or better of RVers high altitude power is a non issue.
For those that do tow at high altitude you know who you are and you will likely be better served with a turbocharged engine.
The honest truth is for a 10k trailer any 3/4 ton late model truck gas or diesel will hold the speed limit 99% or better of the miles almost all RVers tow so long as this simple rule is followed. If you want it to go faster push the skinny pedal harder.
Get what you want. I have a gas truck and like to give diesel guys a hard time but I wouldn't rule out that my next truck may be diesel if that is what best suits my needs when that time comes.
