U know I think that diesel trucks are more to maintain financially, at least was in my case. With the 6.0 gas I have now all that is required is fuel, oil changes, and occasional airfilter till 100k. Afterwards, spark plugs and coolant change. Very cheap. Now the 01 duramax was fuel, fuel filters, air filters, oil change and diesel kleen every so often. It got better fuel milage but overall was more to keep up in our case. Now with the newer ones u must add def ect.. So I choose to stay with gas. I agree with what truck u need u need to buy regardless of what others say. And yes that older cummins u have is a great reliable engine! And very little maintenance is required to boot, which is hard to find on the new diesels due to all the emissions.
