hooking up a travel trailer from the trailer's rear

Why not install a bollard (as an anchor) and use an electric cable winch ?

Much like pulling a boat back onto the trailer. The bollard would be placed at the spot where the hitch will finally land. When taking the trailer away, set the power winch in reverse and roll the trailer back down hill.
