While intentions are good, the answer many give is "get a bigger......". Bigger is not necessarily needed or better. Surprisingly, no one has recommended you hurry out and get a 3500 dually.
Still of the opinion I voiced earlier and repeated by many, get everything weighed, get the true specs of your truck and then do the numbers. Don't forget to allow cushion. You may truly have too much trailer or not enough truck, but no one knows for sure. Save yourself some stress and money and head to the scales. You mentioned getting from home to a scale....if there is a Pilot, Flying J, Love's or similar nearby, that's what you need. When all else fails, check the Yellow Pages.
