Agreed with most. Do your research first. Weights, setup, how you load, etc. I have a 17' (6000 lb max) bumper pull and a 34' Fifth Wheel, 12k lb max. They tow very differently from each other. I have a 3/4 ton pickup, long bed, crew cab. The truck alone is a horrible ride with the back end bouncing up and down on some of our local freeways. The truck with the 17' and a full water (water in front) is pretty good and pulls well (except on some of our lousy bumpy freeways); with empty water and full waste tanks (waste tanks are behind axle) it behaves different and does not ride as well. The truck with the fifth wheel and with my toys inside feels better than the 17' bumper pull - but I tow with empty tanks because of the weight; but with empty tanks and wind gusts it can sway a bit.
In my case my 17' bumper pull rides better at the beginning of a trip (full fresh water, empty waste tanks) than at the end of a trip. My fifth wheel handles about the same beginning or end as I tend to pull with empty tanks. Big one for me is to avoid certain highways as they beat me up (I-5 in California) whether I'm towing or not.
