I for one could not handle a larger HD truck. They are just too big for me.
Not sure what you are talking about, as there is little, if any, difference in size between half ton and three quarter ton models. A dually is another story, but that is not what they are looking at.
Yep, especially in handling. I've never driven a HD truck that handles as well as a good half ton. The closest thing that I have driven in a HD truck is my Dads 2003 Ram 2500...
For me, I'll take a half ton and get the one with the most possible payload. Probably a F150 Max Tow or the NHT Silverado 6.2 400 hp beast! I'll choose a trailer that matches up well with the available payload.
If I were in the OP's shoes I would take a HARD look at the 6.2 NHT Silverado. That truck will deal with the little trailer with no problem.
But, as I learned from watching my friends...once diesel is on a the brain...nothing will satisfy until that diesel itch is scratched. And that's not a bad thing. For me personally, diesels don't get me all hot and gooey for a number of reasons and not any of them have to do with actually towing.
Thanks!
Jeremiah
