I guess we're different. Traveling 5,000 to 8,000 miles annually, fuel cost is our second biggest expense. Campground fees being number one. Although we anticipate the fuel cost and accept it for what it is.
I guess I could probably have stated that a little better.
I also drive about the same miles. This year I will tow about 7000 miles during my 6 months of traveling. 7000/11.5 = 609 gallons (diesel). If I use $2.75/gallon as a (high) average, that's about $1675 for 6 months of traveling around this great country. I consider that a bargain. And at about $280/month that's less then my individual monthly camping fees, grocery bill/restaurant or entertainment for the month.
