There are tons of auxiliary tank options out there for diesels because the fuel is so much less volatile. The equipment is much less expensive because it doesn't have to be vapor-tight, spark-proof, etc., and carries much less liability.
As far as I know, nobody has done anything with regards to an auxiliary tank for a gasoline vehicle.
On top of that, the only way I know to get that 34 gallon tank is to go with a long bed truck. I'm not even sure if GM makes a long bed extended/crew cab pickup in the 1500 anymore. If they do it is a long long boat of a truck.
