My guess from looking at some of the reports in other forums is that the RAM 3L Diesel would do much better mpg-wise pulling that 6K trailer. My guess is at least 12 mpgUS, certainly much better than the 8-9 mpg some are getting.
But, as usual with RAMs, you would have to watch your payload. I think the max is 1400# or so with the 1500 diesels (4x4 QCab). For some that would be fine. Not for me unfortunately.
