Sorry, I misunderstood. You already have the adapter, so you’re good to go.
As Old Biscuit said, plug the adapter onto the pins on the new board. Then plug the old wiring plug onto the adapter. No wires need to be removed.
It’ll look like this when it’s all connected. I had to replace mine a few years ago.
