Hot weather and refrigerators

I also live in Furnace AZ, we start ours the night before when the sun goes down and I also freeze about 6 drinking water bottles. I put 2 in the freezer and 2 in the fridge then switch out 2 in the morning when I am loading the fridge. I make sure everything is either chilled or frozen before I put in fridge. I also have a small battery fridge fan and have it running. Sometimes I thaw out what we are having for dinner in the fridge to help keep it cold. Hope this helps.

I agree with adding a fan inside the refrigerator. It took nearly 8 hours for our refrigerator to cool down to below 40 degrees the first time we used the camper this year. On the last two trips I bought a fan from Camping World and it reduced the cool down time to about 2 hours. So, I'm a fan of the fan!

In the past I also took the outside cover off the back of the fridge and used a clip on 6"fan to blow air up over the cooling fins at the top. The fan is totally outside the fridge blowing air up the back side of the unit.

Ours seems to be working well in 95-degree heat, but 120 may just be too much for the poor thing. You could probably try it on propane and see if that works better. Good luck!

Yes, it's hard to keep one of the camping fridges cold in the hot weather. We switched ours out to a residential in our last TT and it worked great, even in hot weather.

A small fan inside will help to distribute the cold a little faster - you can get them at Camping World or one of the other camping equipment suppliers.
