I liked them so much that when I traded my trailer, I had the dealership swap them to my new rig.

I carry two stools of different heights...with wide set legs...similar to the Camco.

It doesn't matter what kind of step you get, if you travel, eventually you are going to end up in a site that is terribly unlevel and no matter what kind of steps you have, the distance from the bottom step to the ground will be much farther than is reasonably usable.

In the past, we've always had the standard 2 or 3 step fold down on our travel trailers. Many times when camping, we would be at sites where we easily could have used another 2 or 3 steps. We started carrying a step like suggested in the above post. Even then, that was not sufficient in some situations.

I carried a 2 foot step ladder that we used a couple times in years gone by, in addition to the attached steps.

Our current 5er has 2 doors, one one each side of the trailer. It its over 40 feet long, so even slight inclines from front to back of the camp pad makes big difference in the heihgt from the bottom of the trailer to the ground, which can be vastly different between the front and the back of the camper. The steps are no exception, one being near the front, the other being near the back. The fact mine fold down in a fixed length has resulted in some pretty creative temporary step building.

I purchased the longer extensions for my Moryde steps. They help most of the time, but even then, there are those exceptions. When the bottom of the step is still too far to reach the ground, rather than leaving the step dangling in the air, I found another way to support the step so it wouldn't damage the door frame dangling in mid air. But definately, the step was still too high to be used at this camp site.

FYI, the door on the other side, near the front, I had to dig a hole for the step feet.

I suppose what I'm saying is, you probably already have good steps for your camper. No matter what style you switch them over to, you're still going to have the same problem on some campsites, where the distance from the bottom step is just too far from the ground.
