The only way to know if you are towing too much weight is to measure. Compare measurements vs. ratings. Your Sequoia has several ratings including tow limit, combined weight, axle ratings, receiver, etc. The manufacturer says you should not exceed any of them. So your real world tow limit is the amount of towing weight that causes the first limit for your situation to be exceeded. Each owner of any vehicle is different. We all use them in varied ways.
